A Celebration of life for Wayne Cook, 71, of Broadbent, will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 4:00pm at the Oaks Pavillion.

Wayne was born on April 9, 1947 in Myrtle Point to Wayne Charles and Paula (Breuer) Cook.  He died September 1, 2018 at his home in Broadbent.

He was a lifetime Myrtle Point resident, graduating from Myrtle Point High School in the class of 1965.  He worked as a manager at Sprouse-Reitz and also was an oil rigger. He opened Samuel B’s Pizza in Myrtle Point in 1981, which he owned and operated until 1989 when he sold it and became a truck driver.  Wayne loved the mud drags and was one of the founding members of the “Mud Duckers”.  He also enjoyed woodworking, goldmining, fishing, motocross, enduro racing, and anything outdoors. Wayne loved his kids, grandkids, and valued his countless friends. He was one of a kind with the best smile and sense of humor.

Wayne is survived by his children; Charis Perry of Coquille; Keegan Cook of Wasilla, Alaska; and Karie Rose of North Bend; sister Sharon Doyle; brother, Troy Cook; ex-wife, Karen Kinsey and grandchildren, Davis, Deegan and Chance.

He was preceded in death by his long-time girlfriend Isabel Stocks

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Wayne Cook memorial fund at Umpqua Bank.
