On October 7, 1948, Fay married the love of her life, Charlie La Franchi. Together, they worked on numerous dairies throughout Sonoma County, California, while raising their two sons. In 1966, they embarked on a new journey by purchasing a dairy in Coquille, Oregon, where they operated until 1986. Fay then managed the Exxon Plaza Laundromat and Gasoline Station in Bandon, where she encountered many fascinating individuals and accumulated numerous stories. Later, she served as the head bookkeeper and office manager at Ron's Oil Company.
In 1991, Fay and Charlie settled in Myrtle Point, where Fay indulged in her various passions, including cooking, gardening, reading about European history, writing children's books, and designing jewelry.
