Winnie Lillie-Sjogren

Winnie was born January 13, 1928 in Malakauf, TX to Benjamin and Willie (Hester) Bass.  She died September 13, 2020 in Coos Bay.

She met Arago native, Gerald Lillie in Orange, TX while he was in the service.  They moved to Arago and were the first couple married at the Arago Church on August 2, 1946.  Winnie was very active in the Arago Community Church, teaching bible study and Sunday School.  She also served as a 4-H Leader, enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.  She was known by the neighborhood kids for her delicious maple bars.

Her husband Gerald died in November of 1989 and she later married Fred Sjogren in 1995 and he died in 1997.

Winnie is survived by her children, Joyce Lillie, Gary Lillie, Peggy McDonald, Albert Lillie and Glenn Lillie; brothers, B.J. Bass and Toby Bass and her sister, Joyce Mills.  29 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, son, Ben Lillie; brother, Bob Bass and sister, Johnnie Waterman.
