A Celebration of the life of Vernon E. Lang, will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Langlois Community Church.
Vernon was born February 12, 1946 in Redmond, the son of Clifford and Delsie (Nelson) Lang. He died peacefully surrounded by his family April 12, 2022 at the age of 76.
He was raised on the Lang Ranch in Langlois with his 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He graduated from Pacific High School then served in the U.S. Army from June 1967 – September 1971 doing two tours of duty in Vietnam. Receiving the National Defense Service Medal.
He married Priscilla Montgomery on March 30, 1969.
He worked in road construction and on the Amack fishing boat then attended SWOC to become a carpenter which he did until his retirement, building many homes and buildings in the area including the Langlois Lions Club.
He was a baseball coach in Powers, Langlois and Port Orford, He was a Cub Scout Master , long time member of the Langlois Lion’s Club was a Mason and loved his garden, especially his dahlias.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Priscilla; sons, Jake & Deana Lang; Sam & Cassie Lang, Joe & Julie Lang; grandchildren, Wiley, Cooper, Parker and Cort; brothers, Dale & Michaelynne Lang; Carl & Bette Lang; Earl & Merri Lang; Lewis Lang; sisters, Virginia & Bob Boucher; Elaine Jacobs, Lois & Virgil Clark along with many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delsie and Clifford.
