Timothy Dean Groves, 63, was born February 4, 1960 in Myrtle Point. He passed away January 19, 2024 after a long and debilitating struggle with diabetes.
Tim was raised in Myrtle Point and was a longtime Coos County resident. As a youth he was a natural athlete and participated in many sports. Where he most excelled was in track and field area where he set a high jump record while a student in the Myrtle Point school system.
Tim worked most of his life in the woods, first in the logging industry and then many years hunting, harvesting and selling mushrooms. Even after his disability limited his mobility, he still enjoyed time in the woods traveling around on forest roads listening to music and enjoying the serenity of the outdoors.
Tim was most proud of his daughter, Timisha, his unconditional love for her was unending. He spoke often about what a great mom she is to his grandson, Gavin and how proud he was of the choices she is making in her life.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley Groves and his brother, Terry Groves.
He is survived by two sons, Brenton Groves of Boise, ID, Chauncy Groves of Prairie City, OR; daughter and grandson, Timisha Groves and Gavin of Medford, OR; brothers Edmund (Julie) Groves of Myrtle Point, OR, Robert (Laura) Groves of Salem, OR and sister, Jane (Jeff) Hanson, of Yuma, AZ>
Tim will be remembered by his family for his dry wit, kindness and generosity, as well as his deep faith in Christ. He will be missed by his earthly famly, but now his pain and suffering are over and he is home with his forever Heavenly family.
