Sunday, August 11th, 2024 Shawn Wohlsein lost his life far too soon in a tragic motorcycle accident at the young age of 32.
On May 19th, 1992 Shawn was born to Daniel Wohlsein and M Joy Andrews in Lewiston ID. Shawn was joined 6 years later by his little sister and best friend Brittany. Growing up Shawn did not take his duty as a big brother lightly and spent most of his time proving it. He and his sister shared a love for going fast and "riding hardcore". Their strong bond grew with them into adulthood.
He lived in many states growing up. Until he and the love of his life Marissa Barela settled down on the Oregon Coast in 2016. It was here they started the most beautiful life together. They came with nothing more than they could fit in the trunk of a car and soon after getting jobs, they acquired their first home, an old 5th-wheel camper where they lived for just over a year and brought home their first child Aylah. Shawn was so over the moon to be a father and loved his daughter more than life itself. They soon moved into a house where they were able to help multiple family members join them here in Oregon. Shawn spent some years working for Wilson's Market and then moved to a position in Greenskeeping for the Bandon Dunes golf course where he spent the last 5 years. He always took such pride in turning landscape into art. Shawn and Marissa welcomed their son, Zayne, into the world in August 2023. The instant bond between Shawn and Zayne was unexplainable. Even in Zayne's short time with his father, he was no doubt daddy’s little sidekick. Zayne made a "Woo Hoo" noise as Shawn signed his birth certificate and his eyes filled with tears. He was so proud of that boy.
Shawn was so utterly larger than life, with a constant desire for adrenaline. He could fix or build anything you handed him. He would have given anything he had to whoever needed it. The loss of him is so deeply tragic and felt by so many. He is so loved.
Shawn is proceeded in death by his grandfather Doug Andrews, grandpa Jerry Wohlsein, and grandma Carol Wohlsein. He is survived by his children Aylah Jay and Zayne Isaac Wohlsein, their mother Marissa Barela, his sister Brittany (Lilli) Wohlsein, father Daniel Wohlsein, his mother M Joy Andrews, his nephew Jaxon Pierce (Stephanie), his grandmother Vicky Grainger and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family is so thankful for all the prayers and condolences during this time.
