Marian Delores Gant, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at the age of 94.  Born in Hettinger, North Dakota, on September 29, 1930, Marian lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Throughout her remarkable journey, Marian lived in several states including South Dakota, Wyoming, California, and eventually made her home in Oregon.  No matter where life took her, Marian left a lasting impression on everyone she met with her uplifting spirit and generous heart.

Marian married the love of her life, Tom Gant, on June 25, 1950.  Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two sons, Steven Duane and Gary Thomas.  Her family was her pride and joy.  Marian poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them every step of the way.  She also shared a special bond with her beloved brother, Duane.

Professionally, Marian worked as an elementary school secretary, where her kindness and efficiency touched the lives of countless students and staff.  Later in life, she embraced her role as a cranberry farmer, taking great pride in working the land and growing cranberries alongside her family.

Marian had a passion for baking and cherished every moment spent with her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Whether in the kitchen, at the farm, or cheering from the sidelines, she was always there encouraging, helping, and loving unconditionally.

Marian loved nature, spending many hours outdoors.  She stayed active by gardening and walking around the cranberry farm accompanied by her beloved dogs. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Amling Schroeder Funeral Service, Bandon Chapel at 2:00 PM.

Marian will be remembered for her generous heart, her boundless love for her family, and her infectious sense of humor.  She was truly cherished by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Bandon Historical Society Museum, PO Box 737, Bandon, OR 97411.
