Marc Erwin Johnson
August 31, 1947 - December 12, 2021
A memorial service for Marc Johnson, 74, of Bandon Or., will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2021at 2:00 p.m. at Pacific Community Church, Bandon Oregon. A potluck will immediately follow. Marc's favorite colors were red, white, and blue so quests are encouraged to wear patriotic attire.
Marc Johnson, longtime resident of Bandon Or., was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Redding, California and moved to Bandon, 1972.
Marc served in the Navy during the Viet Nam war. He was based at Miramar Naval Base, San Diego, CA where he was a jet mechanic for Squadron VF 21. His last year of service he was on cruise on the U.S.S. Ranger as a Plane captain for the F4 Phantoms. Marc held many occupations in his life: mechanic, welder, commercial fisherman, and business owner. But, most notably as a police officer. Marc served his community with Bandon Police Dept. for 14 years, holding the position of Sergeant for many years and retiring as interim chief.
Marc is survived by his wife, Jeannie and daughter, Stephanie. He was preceded in death by his parents Erwin "Swede" & Evaline Johnson; sisters, Linell & Kristen; and brother Nord, all of Bandon.
