Lois Faye Gibbs, 80, of Myrtle Point, went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2022, she passed very peacefully.
Lois was born on April 21, 1942 to Delbert and Mable Sumner in Myrtle Point, Oregon. She married the love of her life Dan Glenn Gibbs in 1958 and they remained married 36 years until his passing in September 1994. They enjoyed farm life in the Myrtle Point Coos County area of Oregon. Lois and Dan had four children, Dan Gibbs Jr., Robert (Jane) Gibbs, Julie Jo Gibbs, and Darren (Cindy) Gibbs. Lois had 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents Delbert and Mable, sister Norma Baker, and husband Dan Gibbs. Lois is survived by brothers Ed Sumner and Russell Sumner.
Lois had a passion for homemaking, she kept an immaculate home and loved to decorate, her cooking was enjoyed by family, friends, and church members. Her gardening skills with plants, flowers, and decorations adorned her porches and home throughout. Lois also enjoyed reading and sending cards to her family and friends, never an occasion was missed. She spent time at her church, Ladies Bible Studies, and she was an active member of the Coquille Valley Genealogy Group. For all those who knew and loved her have countless treasured memories, and her loving sweet spirit has touched untold lives and will forever be in our hearts.
There will be a celebration of life service at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Myrtle Point First Christian Church. The family requests any donations be made to Myrtle Point First Christian Church. Burial is at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens in Coquille.
