At his request, no formal services will be held for longtime Bandon resident, Kenneth Leon Pennington, who died October 14, 2020 at his home in Bandon.
Ken was born September 2, 1946 in Monticello, Arkansas, the son of William Wright & Esper Esthel Hester Pennington. He moved with his family to Bandon at the age of 9 months where he went to school, graduating from Pacific High School in 1965.
He married Reta Keeler on September 4, 1965.
Ken joined the U.S. Army in 1967 and served until 1971. He then served in the National Guard. He worked as a bar tender, mechanic for log trucks and heavy equipment operator for ODOT from 1976 until his retirement in 2002.
Ken was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed hunting, fishing cars and being “drug along” to bingo with Reta.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Reta; son, Troy Lee & Michelle Pennington; daughter Tina Marie & Alex Hensley; son, William Ernest Pennington; grandchildren, Paula, Kristina, Levi, Johnna, Kaycie, Kenneth, Taylor, Michael, Meagan, Mason, Alisa, Nash, Austin and Starla; 19 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Royce Pennington.
