Judy Kennedy Obituary

Judy Ann Kennedy, 78, passed away on November 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, following complications from a stroke. Born on September 18, 1946, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Judy grew up with her five siblings in a home filled with love and laughter, raised by her parents, Julius and Bonnie Dockery. During her childhood, the family relocated to Coquille, Oregon, where Judy would later meet her husband, Wayne Kennedy.

Together, Judy and Wayne built a beautiful life on the Oregon coast, raising five children and founding two successful logging companies. Judy served as the dedicated bookkeeper and was beloved by their hardworking employees. Her love for Wayne was evident throughout their life together and their teamwork and devotion to each other inspired everyone who knew them. To the very day she passed, she cared for him, spoiled him with food and comforts, and stood faithfully by his side through every challenge and accomplishment.

A stunning woman of grace and kindness, Judy had a unique gift for making everything she touched more beautiful. She was known for her vibrant gardens, her gorgeous and welcoming home, and her elegant presence. Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. As a devoted Christian, she valued instilling strong morals and values in her family and led by example. Judy loved dancing, shopping, and hosting holidays, where she prepared delicious meals and made every guest feel welcome.

Just over a week after Judy’s passing, her beloved husband, Wayne, joined her in Heaven. In memory of their extraordinary life together, a joint celebration of life will be held on February 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Coquille, Oregon.

Judy will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, devotion to family, and the beauty she brought to the world. She is survived by her children, Terry Kennedy, Tina Erickson, Troy Kennedy, Tonya Godden, and Tracey Frederick, as well as her siblings, Kathy Sprague and Benny Dockery. May her laugh live in our minds and her love be carried in our hearts as her legacy lives on through the memories she shared with family and friends.
