John Raymond Turcotte of Port Orford, OR went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2022. John was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was born March 28, 1952, in San Jose, CA. He lived many places in his life but considered Oregon home. He was an avid computer, car and music lover. He loved life and friends. He looked forwarded his poker game each week.
John worked as a painter and drywall hanger before his accident. After his accident he worked hard to walk again. He was a fighter. He proved all the Drs wrong when they said he would never walk again. He survived 35 years and never gave up. After his accident he went back to school and obtained a bachelor’s degree is computer programing. He worked for the State of Oregon. He was not afraid of hard work.
John is survived by his Wife Brenda Turcotte of Middleboro, KY. His daughters Hollie Wright of Coalfield, TN, Jennifer Turcotte of Crossville, TN, Jacqualyn Bender of Knoxville, TN, and Sarah Wilson of Middlesboro, KY and Son Brandon Wilson of Middlesboro, KY. Grandchildren Jordan Northern of Oakdale, TN, Tyler Gilmore of Pikeville, TN, Whitney Green of Oliver Springs, TN, Brook Bender of Oliver Springs, Zelda Wilson, Jacqlyn Wilson, Zoey Wilson, Layla Wilson, Sam Wilson, Nate Wilson and Matt Wilson all of Middlesboro, KY. He also has Great Grandchildren Darin, Jaxon, Dawson, Elaina, Kason, Natalie, Isabella, Joseph, Ashton, and Lilly. He is also survived by TR, Story, Matthew, Kyle, Jensen, Kyra, and Gatlin his adopted family and loving friends in Port Orford, OR. He is survived by one sister Barbara Rowell of Lathrop, CA. He also has two brothers Larry and Gary Shields that predeceased him. He has special friends Marlaina, Mariah, Kat, and Billy Ray in Port Orford, OR that made his life a blessing each day. He also he has many friends, nieces, and nephews that will remember his smile and heart.
I lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the funeral home in his name. If you cannot do that just have a drink in his name. Enjoy life the way that he did.
