This is the hardest thing for a mother to do write up an obituary for her child. There are so many things I want to say but can’t seem to find all the words.
Jeremy Ellis Dement was born in Coquille, Oregon on October 30, 1989 to parents Troy Delano Demet Sr and Rebecca Ann (Spivey) Foster he died April 25, 2025 in Williston, North Dakota.
Jeremy grew up in Myrtle Point, Oregon graduating from Myrtle Point High School in 2008. Jeremy liked to stay active, he attended Karate classes, played baseball and was active in 4-H. Summers you would see him pushing his lawn mower around town to mow lawns. Jeremy always was smiling and would never miss a chance to pick on his siblings. His ability to brighten a room and make you laugh was truly magical, even when he knew he was in trouble he’d smile and cause his mom to smile too. Jeremy had a kind soul always willing to help. After graduation he became a reserve Officer for the Myrtle Police Department something he was very proud of accomplishing. In 2013 he made the decision to move to North Dakota to work in the oil fields, not an easy decision for him, He loved it there, well maybe not the cold winters, but he thrived, even though he missed his Oregon family and friend and grew into a caring young man. It was in North Dakota that he met his wife and started a family.
Jeremy is survived by his wife Illana Dement and son Casey, Mom and Stepdad Rebecca and Orie Foster, sisters Misty and husband Evan Beck, Tia Dement-John Warner and brother T.J. Dement and Iris Grimes, step-sisters Taunoka Foster and Lexi Foster, step-brother Seth Foster and wife Michelle Uncle Charles (Leanne). Grandma Theresa Dement, Aunt Alicia Dement Adkins, Aunt Rachal, Uncle John Dement. In-laws Lisa & Paul Coler, Darla Davis, Stacy and Pat Fleming and Chris Davis. Numerous Nieces and Nephews, cousins and friends.
