August 5, 1948-October 8, 2025
Jacqueline Patricia Neff Billings, from Coquille, was born August 5, 1948 in New Haven, Connecticut, eldest daughter to Allen and Edie Neff. Her family moved to Oregon in 1957 settling in Coquille in 1962 where Jackie graduated from Coquille High School in 1966. Jackie worked as a dental assistant for several area dentists and oral surgeons for over 40 years.
Jackie married Jan Curran and raised two children Jill and Eddie who she loved so very much.
She later married Dan Billings in 1996. Together they shared a love of listening to live music wherever they traveled, especially, rhythm and blues (Paul DeLay, Ben Rice, and Hank Shreve) and soft rock (Fleetwood Mac and LeRoy Bell—he loved her homemade jams!). The couple treasured their camping trips along the Smith River and in the Redwoods and on the coast en route to visit Jay and Marti Andrews in the Bay Area and cheering on the Ducks!
Jackie was known for her fun loving GIGANTIC HEART in regards to putting family and friends first. She had a green thumb, rescued several cats and dogs, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She collected agates and dragonflies and loved sharing her homemade jams and knitted hats.
In 2017, Jackie faced a bone marrow transplant with remarkable courage. Despite lasting effects on her health, she continued to find joy with her family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her husband Dan, daughter Jill Curran Bounds (Coquille) and Eddie Curran (Portland). Grandchildren Theron Bounds, Logan Curran and Angela Curran. She also leaves behind sisters, Carol, Nancy, Lani, and Sally and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Rick.
The family will be celebrating Jackie at a future date.
