Hazel W. McNew Christoferson, 84, passed away at her home in Coquille Oregon, surrounded by her family on March 28, 2020. She was born June 4, 1935 in Powers Oregon, the daughter of Bill and Fern Mulkey. She was a life resident of Coquille.
On Sept 5, Hazel celebrated 25 wonderful years with her husband, Terry Christoferson. She retired from Empire Gas and was also co-owner of TADDS and Four Seasons here in Coquille. The last few years, Hazel was an active member of the West Coast Painted Rock club and enjoyed painting and giving away rocks of kindness. She was a faithful member of the New Horizon Church of God and the Azalea Glen Christian Center. Her faith in God and the love for her family and friends always shined through. Hazel had an infectious smile and a kind and compassionate spirit. Most of the time, you could find her doing her embroidery, canning or being in her garden and rocks. Hazel also loved going on rides to the beach and mountains. Her favorite flower was, of course, the daffodil.
In addition to her parents, Bill and Fern Mulkey, Hazel was predeceased by her brother Donald Mulkey. She is survived by her husband, Terry Christoferson and her brother Darrel Mulkey and his wife Phyllis, her children Debbi and husband Mike Brugnoli, Alan McNew, Craig McNew, Bill McNew, Stacey and husband John Mitts, Tyree and Husband Stormy Hall, Kristy Christoferson and Frank and Janet McNew; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
