GEORGE ERNEST TROTT
12-06-1938 ---- 06-23-2021
Beloved longtime Bandon resident who served both his country and his community has gone home after battling lung cancer and pneumonia.
Military honors and a celebration of his life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Bandon VFW Post #3440 on Bates Road.
George Ernest Trott was born in Bandon, Oregon on December 6, 1938 to Arthur G. Trott and Jane Lavern Cox (Trott). George was in the Army and served two tours in Viet Nam. George was the Commander at the Bandon VFW Post #3340 for 30 years. George was also on the City of Bandon Police Reserves and with the Bandon Volunteer Fire Department. George was also the one who started the standing on the corner of Hwy. 101 and 42 S. every Friday evening, holding the American Flags in honor of our veterans and our soldiers in active duty, saying that he would stand there every Friday, until all of our soldiers come home.
George is survived by: Wife; Myrna Trott, Brother; Robert Trott, Sisters; Shirley Hamrick and Donna Kolar. Children; Janice Hester, Kelly Trott, Gary Trott and Cindy Kirk. Grandchildren; Christina, Hailey, Nina, Jesse and McKenzie, as well as two great granddaughters; Amelia and Leona, along with many nieces and nephews.
