On May 11, 2023, I’m sorry to say, Floyd A. Williams passed away at his home in Bandon, Oregon.
Born September 3, 1939 in Stockton, CA, he graduated from high school in 1957, went for one year to Azusa Bible College in Azusa, CA then, in 1958 he joined the US Air Force and served four years. During that time he married and has a daughter, Lorianne and son, Gregory.
He was employed by the Lodi Police Department and worked his way through the ranks to Police Chief in Lodi with 30 years of service.
He enjoyed traveling and touring the U.S. and he received the call to become a minister. He was the Pastor of the Bandon First Baptist Church for eight years.
He reconnected with and married his high school sweetheart, Betty Sheldon Campoy Williams and they traveled and wintered in Mesa, AZ and summers in Bandon, OR.
He is survived by Betty, his daughter, Lorianne & Steve Porterfield; son, Greg & Sunny Williams; grandson, Tyler & Karly Porterfield and three great-grandsons, Wyatt, Westley and Greyson.
A funeral service will be held in Lodi at GracePoint Church, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Rd. 10 a.m. on May 24, 2023 and a Celebration of his life will be held 1:00 p.m., June 10 at the Bandon First Baptist Church.
