Edith Winters Obituary

Edith was born October 27, 1923 in Bend, Oregon to Homer and Ethel Hunt and died May 6, 2023 in her Bandon home surrounded by loved ones.

Edith was born with her twin sister, Edna.  At the young age of six months their dad tragically died from influenza.  Their mother then moved the twins, their older sister and their four brothers to Bandon.  There her mother, Ethel, met and married Adam Storm and they moved to a ranch at the end of Morrison Rd.  The family made their life in Bandon and even survived the 1936 fire.  Edith and Edna would remember lying in the sand on the North Jetty and watching the town burn.

In 1941 Edith graduated from Bandon High School.  She worked at "Sadie's Soda Fountain" where she loved making ice cream sodas.  She then moved to Seattle for a time to do her part in the war efforts.

Edith later met the love of her life, Roger Jack Winters, and she married him on December 20, 1944.  They were married in the home of Roger's parents, Henry and Florence Winters at 56534 Prosper Jct. Rd, in Bandon.

Edith enjoyed being a wife, homemaker and mother to her children; Steve, Barry, Dan and Debbie.  Her children were the joy of her life to the end.

Roger passed away in 1993.  Edith sold the family home several years later and decided to design and build herself a new home on Fishtale Rd. in Bandon.  She moved into her new home in 2004.  It is there that she celebrated the remaining years of her life with family, extended family and friends.  Edith never met a stranger.  Everyone was always welcome and most called her "Mom".

Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Roger, son, Steven Winters, daughter, Debbie Winters-Llewelllyn, her twin sister, Edna and her other siblings.

She is survived by children, Barry & Jodie Winters and Dan & Riki Winters; grandchildren, Stacy & Sherrie Winters, Rachele & Paul Sogn, Mechelle & Michael Webb, Kris Winters, Virgil & Renee Llewellyn, Briana Hutchens and Kyle Everett; her 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She will be forever in our hearts.
