Donald David Mort passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, peacefully at his home in Coquille, OR.
He was born on December 27, 1929, in Council Bluffs Iowa to Floyd and Gladys Mort.
In 1947 the family relocated to Ogden Utah and he attended Ogden High School. Afterwards he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Quite proud of his time in the service, he shared stories of his experience often. He went on to a long career in transportation management, working with the Mt Diablo Unified School District in Concord, CA, Greyhound Busing in San Francisco, CA and nationally with Laidlaw Transportation.
Donald married Jane M. (Lancaster) Mort in 1974 and with retirement they settled in Coquille Oregon. He was a past member of the Elks and Eagles Clubs in Coquille, and volunteered his time assisting with the Coquille area’s senior meals program.
Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane, his brother Warren Mort, and his sister Delores Mort Brenneman.
Donald is survived by his children, Ken Mort; St Louis MO; Jeff Mort; Concord CA; Don Mort; Napa CA; Doug Mort; Martinez CA; Fred Ehler; Antioch CA; Marie Carbone; Brentwood CA; Leigh Ann Townsend; San Rafael CA; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren
