David Louis Knapp was born November 25, 1950 to Harold and Mary (Hale) Knapp in Coos Bay, OR. He died January 8, 2019 at the age of 68.
He was raised in Port Orford on the family dairy and then cattle ranch along with siblings Michael Knapp, Mary Knapp Blandau & Carol Knapp Bess. He graduated from Pacific High School in 1969 and attended Oregon State University. He then married Barbara Donaldson on March 19, 1972 and carried on the family legacy of ranching until retiring in 2014 due to his health. He continued to reside on the ranch until his passing.
David was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He also loved horseback riding. He along with friends and family spent many great summers rafting the Wild & Scenic section of the Rogue, the Illinois & Elk River.
He is survived by wife, Barbara; son Jeff, his daughter Audree and Audree’s mother Adelinne Maddi; son Jeremy & Jamey Knapp and their sons Logan & Tristan. Sisters Mary Blandau and Carol & Ken Bess along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and brother, Michael.
Services will be held Saturday, January 19th @ 2:00 at the Langlois Lions Club. Meat will be provided and potluck dishes are welcome.
Arrangements are under the direction of Amling Schroeder Service, Bandon.
