Daralyn Perkins Obituary

Daralyn Lee Perkins was born June 6th 1953 in Enumclaw, Wa.  Her parents were Howard and Goldie Anderson. She was born a twin to her brother Hugh and had 6 other siblings.  They lived in Anchorage, AL and moved to Eugene, OR in 1964 where Daralyn graduated from Sheldon High in 1971.
Daralyn had her son Tyler Thomas in 1977.  Tyler was and continued to be her greatest joy and accomplishment in life. She worked hard for them and bought her first home shortly after his birth.  Around 1983 she met and married Ross Shepherd of Myrtle Point and moved with him to Catching Creek.  They helped raise sheep with her in-laws, Elmo and Donna Shepherd.  Raising and working sheep was one of her greatest memories.  Together Ross and Daralyn became foster parents to many children over the years.  A highlight of her life was when son, James Christner became a part of their family.
Daralyn worked many years at Hometown Hardware where she enjoyed working and meeting people and creating friendships.
After her divorce from Ross she met the love of her life Ron Perkins of Myrtle Point and on April 16th 2001 they were married.  Ron and Daralyn enjoyed crabbing, fishing and spending time with friends and family and of course their dogs and cats.
In 2002 Daralyn was diagnosed with colon cancer but beat it with the loving care and support of her husband Ron.  In 2003 her granddaughter was  born and it was the beginning of the most enjoyable times of her life.  Over the years she had 5 granddaughters total.  Spending time and spoiling them was her greatest blessing.
On July 19th 2022 Daralyn went to be with the Lord.  She is proceeded in death by her parents, her 3 sisters and her dog Bear.  She is survived by her loving husband Ron Perkins, her treasured sons, Tyler Thomas and wife Shannon of Myrtle Point, Jim Christner and wife Autumn of Tampa Fl., her 5 grandaughers and her 4 remaining siblings.
Her celebration of Life/Potluck will be held at the Bullards Beach East Picnic area on August 7th at 2pm.
