Kind, gentle, supportive, and spirited, Bobbie Nelson, left her beloved family on December 31st, 2023. Bobbie was born in 1955 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to parents Joe and Myra Sturgill. She is survived by her father and stepmother Ruth, siblings: Randy, Laurie, Gary, Deanna, Donna, Norman, Michael, Joe, John, sons: Jason, and Justin, daughter Kylie, two stepchildren Jamie and Christie, and seven grandchildren.
Bobbie led an exciting life and loved to spend time camping and exploring the Rogue River, spending time with family and friends. She loved horseback riding, bowling, fishing, canning, telling stories of her loved ones, and cooking for others on special occasions. She was a beautiful soul, had a great sense of humor and a heart full of compassion.
Bobbie graduated in 1973 from Myrtle Point High School, she worked as a waitress at Tubby’s Restaurant and Roseburg Forest Products for many years. Bobbie was owner operator of the Colony Restaurant and Lounge in Myrtle Point for 16 years. She donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and for two years donated more than any other business in the State of Oregon to the cause. She was passionate about child illness and their family support.
A celebration of life will be held at the Coquille Community Center on January 27th at 2:00pm. 105 North Birch Street, Coquille.
