Bartol “Bart” Domenighini Jr. was born to Rosina Angelica (Gambetta) and Bartol Attillio Fiorente Domenighini Sr. in Bandon, Oregon on March 19, 1935. He died in Bandon on April 11 of natural causes at the age of 90. Bart attended Parkersburg School and graduated from Bandon High School, after which he served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He spent his early life working the family dairy farm, “Bella Vista”, near Bear Creek in Bandon, later raising cattle on the same ranch. His parents were Swiss-Italian immigrants who settled on the farm in the early 20th century. Bart is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Sam Hernandez of Bandon, and two grandsons, Nathan Miller of Topeka, KS, and Lucas Miller of Bandon; and daughter Tanesha Van Leuven of Des Moines, WA. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores Thom of Oakland, CA; 14 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews, and 9 great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom he was extremely fond. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Guido, George, and Bill; sister, Gladys Sylvester; three nephews, and a great niece. Bart was well known for his quick wit and keen sense of humor. He loved the Oregon Ducks and enjoyed watching football and basketball games. He will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
