Barbara Grant

Barbara S Grant, 75, of Coquille died at home in her sleep on October 27, 2019 after a battle with several illnesses.

Barb was Born August 14, 1944 on a kitchen table in the home of family friends in Garwood, Missouri. Barb is survived by her Mother Earlene Keeney of Coquille, her husband of 53 years Bud Grant of Coquille, Sons Jeff Grant of Coquille, Jason Grant of Roseburg and 6 grandchildren she loved very much. Barb was preceded in death by her brother Will W Keeney Jr in 1969 and her Father Willard W Keeney Sr in 2005.

Barbara Graduated from Coquille High School in 1962 and forever was a part of all Coquille Athletics. She went to many games to watch her sons and grandchildren play all sports. She was the book keeper/score keeper for the baseball programs over several years. You knew when Barb was at a game by her super loud whistle which always gave her away. Barb was known for her humor, smiles, hugs. Barb believed that Once a Red Devil you were always a Red Devil.

Barb had several jobs over the years including as a teacher aide but she was most known for her time as a preschool teacher and is affectionately known as Gramma Barb by kids spanning from the 1970’s up until her death in 2019. She will be missed by many children whose lives touched while teaching, cheering or just loving them.

Barb was very active in the community with Sorority, Junior Bowling, Cub Scouts and helping with concessions at games. But most of all Barb loved her Grandchildren, they were the biggest joy in her life and she spent as much time with them as she could. While short in stature Barb’s heart and love for all was way bigger than her.

Graveside services are private family only. A celebration of life will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts please donate money in Barbs name to the Girls Basketball Program at the Coquille High School.
