Alberta Janette Floyd was born on September 22, 1941 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to William Arden Floyd and Hazel Claire Phillips-Floyd. She passed away on July 12, 2022 in Coos Bay, Oregon.
As a child Alberta was given the nickname Dette and continued to use the name throughout her life.
Dette was the youngest of six children which included her siblings Eleanor, Ilene, Donna, Benita, and Bill.
She attended Myrtle Point High School, but graduated from Medford High School in 1959.
Throughout her teen years she had various jobs babysitting and was an usher at Hiland Theatre in Myrtle Point. After high school she attended Business School and studied bookkeeping, and accounting. She then decided to pursue a career in nursing. Dette received her training as a licensed practical nurse from Rogue Memorial Hospital where she later worked in intensive and coronary care.
On September 2, 1973 Dette married the love of her life, Mickey Joe Kincheloe in Lakeside, Oregon.
She was a full-time wife, stay at home mother and bookkeeper for Kincheloe & Sons, Inc.
Dette’s life was full of family, friends, adventures, vacations, work, fun and horses. She was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her horses, llamas, goats, and dogs. She was passionate about working with CASA and Horse 4-H. She spent summers at the fairgrounds as a 4-H leader and taught many children to love and care for horses.
Dette is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years Mickey Kincheloe, daughter; Kristi McAuliffe and husband Dan of Eugene. Sons; Dave Presnall of Sacramento, Jeff Kincheloe and wife Regina of Coquille, and Wes Kincheloe and wife Dede of Myrtle Point. Grandchildren; Thomas Kincheloe and wife Amanda of Myrtle Point, Hannah Kincheloe of Montana, Zac Kincheloe of Montana, and Amy Bedwell and husband Ben of Powers, Chase Berry and wife Rain of Bandon. Greatgrandchildren; Konnley Berry, Landon Kincheloe, Silas, Pete, and Bryer Bedwell. And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
