Terrill (Terry) James Christoferson, 75, passed away at his home on Rink Creek in Coquille Oregon on May 3, 2020 with his family and friends by his side.  Terry was the son of Orville and Lorraine Christoferson.  He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 22, 1945.  Terry was raised in Palerino, North Dakota and graduated from Palerino High School in 1963.

After graduation he moved to California for a short time before making Oregon his home in 1965.  Terry retired as a truck driver, but he never slowed down.  He was a very generous man who would drop everything to help family and friends.  He has a mischievous smile and laugh along with that certain sparkle to his blue eyes.  He was a faithful servant of God and a devoted member of the New Horizon Church of God in Coquille Oregon and the Azalea Glen Christian Center in Azalea Oregon.  Most any Sunday, Terry could be found playing his guitar with the Church’s band.  He was a devoted husband, father and friend to all.  In his younger years, Terry would jockey for different racehorse owners.  During his recent illness, one of his desires was to be able to go back to North Dakota to the ranch and ride horses one more time.  He loved music and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, road trips and sometimes he even had the pleasure of “panning” for gold.  Terry was also a very good cook!

In addition to his parents, Orville and Lorraine Christoferson, Terry was predeceased by his wife Hazel W. McNew Christoferson.  He is survived by his brother Allan and wife Jill Christoferson of Coos Bay and his sister Kathy and husband Ken Peerson of Coquille, his children: Stacey and husband John Mitts, Tyree and husband Stormy Hall, Kristy Christoferson, Debbi and husband Mike Brugnoli, Bill McNew and Craig McNew, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
