Jack Douglas “Doug” Cranford, 83, of Coquille, passed away early Sunday morning in Bandon.  A Private Family viewing will be held Friday, July 14 2017 at Amling Schroeder Funeral Service- Coquille Chapel, followed by a public Graveside service at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens at 2pm. 

Doug was born in Floyd, New Mexico to Amanda Perkins and Grady Cranford on October 1, 1933. As a young man they moved to Southern California, where he started driving trucks at a young age and continued to do so for over 50 years. Shortly after moving he joined the Army during the Korean War. Not too long after his honorable discharge from the army he met the love of his life Rayma Pierce.  They married in 1970 and spent 47 years together. Doug is survived by his Wife Rayma Pierce Cranford of Coquille,  Son and daughter in law Mark & Cheryl Cranford of Coquille, Son Jack learner of Montana,  Son Matt Cranford of California, 2 Grandsons Jeremy Miller & Chris Cranford, and 1 Great Grandson Urjah Miller, along with numerous Nieces and nephews, as well as Marks dog, Shotgun, all of whom loved and respected Doug.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Bobbie Coyne.

Doug was remembered as a “man of his word” who was loved by all who knew him.  He was an avid mechanic, and collector of cars. He loved to go the auctions to buy and sell cars. Though, his biggest love besides his beloved wife Rayma; was chocolate.  His family shares fond memories of growing up with Dad playing card games and listening to his favorite Old Country western music.
